Big beats come from Little Apple during jazz festival

— Jazz aficionados found plenty of beats to move to on Saturday in Manhattan.

Jazz performers from around the Midwest took the stage in Manhattan City Park for the Little Apple Jazz Festival. Hundreds of people attended the festival, which is part of the Summer Arts in the Park Program, and free of charge. There was a variety of styles to satisfy all tastes of jazz music from traditional to contemporary and blues and R & B to Latin.

The festival not only attracted local musicians, but also nationally touring bands.
